It was my first time in the restaurant. I was very positively surprised by the selection. The crab soup was delicious. The sea bream was delicious. Thank you very much

Update: There are now 2 pages for the Colossus; one for the restaurant (here) and one for the hotel. That's why I will republish my post here: The Kolossos was reopened on September 15, 2020 and with the same name suggests that the old owners have reopened or that it is at least a Greek restaurant. This is unfortunately not the case. The souvlaki skewers were the only Greek dish. The ordering process should be simplified via QR code, which initially worked. When the restaurant continued to fill up, nothing worked. New guests had to wait almost 10 minutes before they were assigned a table. Orders via smartphone or waiter were not carried out at all or with very long waiting times; We waited 1 hour for our food. That was a total letdown. My Spanish paella was too salty and the rib eye steak was so gristly that my dad almost choked on it. Unfortunately we could not finish because the food could not keep up with the kitchen of the old colossus. I was able to find out from the really friendly staff that they must be Russian owners and kitchen staff. I would suggest adding some Russian specialties to the menu in the hope that it will be well cooked. Unfortunately, not a single Russian dish was on the menu. The well-photographed paella was not nearly as good as my photography skills would lead you to believe.

Today we were again for the first time after the closure of the old restaurant in the Kolossos and had been looking forward to it, since the south of Neuss is not exactly blessed with good restaurants. A lot of high-tech when making the reservation and then filled out the corona slip. The waiter was very courteous, almost submissive, and the mask mostly hung over the mouth and not over the nose. Now for the food and the value for money. Starters very small, the soup lukewarm and much too expensive for that. The main course was the icing on the cake. The salad with salmon and shrimp for at least 18.90 was the size of a side salad and wasn't seasoned at all. The souvlaki looked good and plentiful at first glance. After various attempts at dissection and chewing, only 1/3 of the meat was edible. The spinach ice cream ordered with feta, advertised as risotto by the waiter, was inedible and not seasoned. When asked about these circumstances, the listed deficiencies will now be addressed in the Monday team meeting. Well, I would like to be there. It's a shame, then we still have to go to eat on the other side of the Rhine.

Real surprise, after a change of ownership, in this Corona time reopening d. Experience Colossus. Warm atmosphere, selected dishes with a Mediterranean accent, perfectly renovated old architecture (200 years old), friendly, attentive staff ... we can only recommend trying it. The Rhine and Neuss sports harbor are close by. on 10/20/2020
